i coulda been a contender

i love that i had NO idea where that phrase came from.
now, after watching Brando in "On the Waterfront", I do!

This movie was interesting.
to see Brando in this film, after seeing him much fatter and older in the Godfather gave me a different view of him.

mostly i liked it
though i realize how awful most acting was back then.
the ladies, so stupid and over the top.

it's off the list.

vertigo- oh no

I can't believe how lame this movie was.
I get that cinematically (i hope that's a word) it's pretty cool.
However, in terms of story line and especially ending...i kinda hated it.
Jimmy Stewart is an asshole ( and old) in this movie too, which makes me sad.
But, I can check this off the list. I saw Vertigo
Thanks Alfred Hitchcock.

he's number one

I saw this film for a film class back in college, and so knew what Rosebud was.
It kinda ruined it for me this time, because I thought they would figure it out and THEN the movie would begin.
But, that's not really what it's about is it. Grrr.
It was good. I very much enjoyed watching number one.

More classic movies about classic relationships?

It's cold in Chicago, and so I've been trying to catch up on the 100 top AFI films.

One thing I've found in common with many of these classics, depressing relationship dynamics and they're really loooooong.

Gone with the Wind:
It took me three days to get through this bad boy.
Frankly my dear Scarlett, I can't stand you.

The GodFather was great. Also long, but after watching some parts for a second time I caught a lot of things I didn't the first time.
I could not get over the fact that it was Al Pacino (it is right?) and Diane Keaton looked so different, but has the exact same voice.
Great movie, I can't wait to watch the second one.
Lesson learned, I could never be a mobster. Killing friends, no thanks.

Raging Bull...shit man shit.
This was intense. Lots of blood, beating women, bloating. I had a really hard time dealing with this character. Total douche, and he's a real guy.

Yesterday was a two for one.
I didn't feel like going in to work, so I took the day off.
Mostly for no reason.
And, I went to Kuma's Corner for the first time.
DELICIOUS!
Because I got there RIGHT as they opened at 11:30, there was only one set of people in front of us.
Which meant, no wait.
For that place, this is a rare thing.

I came home smelling pretty yuck from all the food, but it was worth it.
I dont' remember now which burger I got, but it had Hot Peppers on it, and Gouda Cheese. UGH!
I ate so much, and it was all so rich, I didn't have to eat for the rest of the day.
And, I had the best food induced nap EVER, just a part of the very perfect day off.

I Vant to Suck your Blood

Today, I decided to donate blood.
Lifesource was having a drive, I saw in the elevator.
Thought it would have been a quick in and out, but it was quite the ordeal.
Didn't help that as the needle came out, this girl got pale and faint.
My friend, whose name I still don't know, took such great care of me.
Ice packs all over, legs elevated, checking on me, getting me water.
So check that sucker off the list, and maybe on the bigger list.
Never again?
I know it's such a good thing to do, but DAMN it made me feel nasty.

This one's happening.
Joined CES' Winter Warrior's program.
Just finished week 2.
This week, we'll be doing 7 miles, which is then more than half the total distance.
Also, today, bought a ticket to Miami.

So....left to do, finish the training and register for the half.
