#82. Renew Passport

I got a lil misty eyed last night as I was finalizing the passport renewal process, and not only because the my new photo is pretty heinous.
I realized that this passport has been with me since highschool, since my very first trip out of the country and to all the other fabulous places i've been.
And here I am, sending it to a government office so they can probably just throw it into some huge heap of discarded, outdated passports (i would love to visit this heap) and rot.

I remember the night I went to get my first passport photo taken.
Vanessa (who i'm no longer even friends with) and i were headed to a party, and stopped at a fedex kinkos on the way.
my hair was up in my bjork inspired piggytail buns, i was wearing a hemp choker and my awesomely funky glasses.

so i sent that photo, along with all the stamps marking the many trips i've taken to philly in hopes they take good care of it and send me a bright shiny new passport that i can work on marking up with fancy new stamps and adventures.

#84. Try a new restaurant every month

I went to Tango Sur on Tuesday with Carla, Angela and her friend Karie.
It was Angela's birthday, so her choice and such a great choice!
We sat outside and it was beautiful!
Seems like there's a trend here: Aregentinian restuarants.

#16. Send a letter/card every month

My aunt ME is sick, she's got the cancer.
We're not the biggest fans of one another, but i love her.
so, i sent her a "thinking of you" card this morning.
not going to say it's gonna go over well, but whatever, i can only control myself.
and today, myself is sending her LOVE!

it was another crazy weekend.
very little down time, very little sleep.
but a whole lot of fun!

i found yet another volunteer opportunity through best friend javi.
and so we spent saturday and sunday at green festival down at navy pier.
that place is cool and all, but HUGE and hard to get to, and not very accessible via public transportation, so i got a lot of walking in.

i got a mustache which was a huge hit, made me a superstar.
we helped out at green monkey organic catering and rainforest learning center booths.

went to a few birthday parties.
and captured the typical photo of jeff making an ugly fat face in the background. i SWEAR there are hundreds of those out there in the digital universe.
all in all pretty good.
i did fail on the brunch goal, but this weekend, i already have one planned for sunday, and hopefully a few more to squeeze in with the four day weekend and all! WOOT!

i'm trying to decide if i want to stay at my current place or not for another year.
though, as one of my roommates brought up, i could always find someone to take over my lease if i didn't want to stay the WHOLE year.
but when i look at photo's like the one above, of my beautiful home, it's hard to imagine leaving.
until...nobody replaces toilet paper, nobody cleans out their nasty booger spit from the sink in the morning, people are loud at all hours of the morning and night on weeknights. then i start to think, hmmmm, maybe it would be nice to live on my own.

but do i really want to pay for cable on my own? and would i be willing NOT to watch bravo and vh1 reality shows now that i'm hooked?

i think we've just made up our decision.

AND I AM!
Huge win yesterday against the Detroit Tigers, with our beloved Maglio Ordonez (O-E-O, Maglio).
6-0, Buherle only allowed for one hit (Bobby allowed 2 more when he came in to close) but NOBODY scored!
A beautiful night to be out, despite the scare of rain.
Our seats were FANATASTIC!
They treat the teachers right, 6th row back along the 1st base line.
And I got a veggie dog.
Perfection!
Check it off the list, but I'll be hitting up many more games over these 1001 days.

last night i went with ju to a really cool event at spudnik press.
they have a monthly "drink and draw" gathering at their studio space over on hubbard near damen.
this month's theme was collage.
i'm not much of an artist, and i love collage, so this was perfect for me!
i did not partake in the beer part, i know, because i was so full and it was budweiser, which give me a headache without fail.
the 5.6.09 picture is of my somewhat final result. i like it.

tonight i'll be checking more things off my list, but i'm feeling like a bit of a failure right now, not completing more than just the regular weekly/monthly things. eh, i'll get over that.

#32. on Friday i went with chelsea to the artopolis art opening here at the mart for it's official opening.

#60. that night i also was invited by my bestie for a sleepover.
we used to have these all the time, when we still lived at home.
now that we both have places of our own, hardly ever.

we did attempt to watch the original psycho, but i only got so far as the lady being all crazy, stealing money and trying to trade in her car for a new one, while a police officer watched...then i fell asleep. to be fair, it was like 4am or something. i'll try again.

#5. saturday morning i was invited out for brunch with charlotte and judy. we went to rustik which had a fabulous bloody mary bar...i don't even like bloody mary's, but i like stuff in my drinks.
